Joyce P. Owens

Joyce P. Owens, 82, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at her residence. She was born on March 6, 1937 in Scott County, Indiana, the daughter of the late James Gilbert Williams and Lillie Mae (Everitt) Williams-Daniel. Joyce was a retired registered nurse at the old Madison State Hospital in Madison, Indiana, also had worked at Clark Memorial Hospital, Veterans Hospital and the old Scott Villa Living Center. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Scottsburg, Indiana. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by a son, Charles “Chuck” Owens; two sisters, Anna Louis Kimberlin and Betty Green; two brothers, Warren and Everitt Williams and a granddaughter, Melinda Owens. Survivors include two sons, Desi Owens and his wife Karen of Scottsburg, Indiana and Billy Owens and his wife Peggy of Lexington, Indiana; a daughter, Betty Bogard of Scottsburg, Indiana; three sisters, Violet Marie Davis and Jane Bridgewater both of Scottsburg, Indiana and Kay Allen of New Albany, Indiana; nine grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Collins Funeral Home with burial in Scottsburg Cemetery. Visitation: 10 am to 1 pm on Friday at Collins Funeral Home.
