Devonnia Kate Tscheulin, 34, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana with her family and loved ones by her side. She was born on February 14, 1989 in Salem, Indiana, the daughter of Joseph H. Sears and Shirley Devonnia (Lainhart) Sears. On August 7, 2010 she married Michael L. Tscheulin, II, who survives. Devonnia graduated from Salem High School in 2007. She went on to become a paramedic after attending the Pelham Training Institute out of Bloomfield, Indiana. Devonnia was Paramedic Deputy Chief Director of Scott County EMS in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was also the former Deputy Director of Washington County EMS and Paramedic in Salem, Indiana. Devonnia also worked as a Safety Team Jump Medic at the Impact Rescue Salem Speedway Safety Team in Salem, Indiana. She was a longtime member of the Mt. Hebron Church in Scottsburg, Indiana. Devonnia was a caring, selfless individual that devoted her life to serving her family and community. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Burnam and Katie Lainhart, Otto and MaryAnn Kellams, and Calvin Sears; nephew, Brandon; and cousin, Mallory. In addition to her loving husband, Michael, and parents, Joe and Shirley Sears of Salem, Indiana, Devonnia will be greatly missed by her three children, Chase, Katie, and Maverick Tscheulin of Scottsburg, Indiana; two brothers, Jared (Amanda) Sears of Salem, Indiana and Jonathan (Angela) Sears of Scottsburg, Indiana; nieces and nephews, Wil, Annalee, Brennen, Trinten, Liam, Isaac, and Lyndia; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral Service 12:00 Noon Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the First Christian Church in Scottsburg, Indiana with Bro. Rodney Sweeney & Minister Jac Sanders officiating. Visitation 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, August 18, 2023, and after 10:00 am Saturday at the First Christian Church. Interment at New Hope Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana. Memorial Contributions to the Devonnia Tscheulin Memorial Fund in c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Checks can be made out to the Scott County Community Foundation.
