Obituary

Mary Combs, 75, passed away on June 7, 2024 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on November 10, 1948 in Scottsburg, Indiana to the late Irvin Sipe and Dorothy (Crafts) Sipe. Mary graduated from Deputy High School in 1966. She worked at Marion's Greenhouse in Deputy, Indiana. On May 26, 1966, she married David R. Combs. Mary was a pancreatic cancer survivor. She lived with pancreatic cancer for twelve years and had a pancreatic cancer study in her name. Mary lived her life with grace and enjoyed spending time with her family. Mary is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, David R. Combs; three daughters, Lisa (Grant) Fears, Teresa Clark, and Erin Combs; three sisters, Sharron (Roy) Marion, Lynetta (Randy) Spry, and Louise (Mike) Deeg; eight grandchildren, Tony Clark and Dreamer (James) Dodd, Dustin (Holly) Smith, Benjamin and Spencer Fears, Lilith and Anastasia Robinson and Joshua Lainhart. She is also survived by six great grandchildren; Micah and Ethan Clark, Jaxson Dodd, Israel and Peyton Robinson, and Aiden Smith. The service for Mary Combs will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Kody Thomas officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Thursday from 10:00 am until time of service at Collins Funeral Home. Interment will follow services at Scaffold Lick Cemetery in Lexington, Indiana. Memorial donations can be made in Mary's name to Scaffold Lick Cemetery Association c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
