Robert D. "Bob" Dake, 91, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Hickory Creek of Scottsburg. He was born on September 5, 1929 in Whiteland, Indiana, the son of the late William "Bill" Alonzo Dake and Hazel (Fraker) Dake. Bob graduated from New Washington High School in 1949 and immediately joined the United States Air Force achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He proudly served 3 years, 6 months and 18 days at the Tulen Air Force Base in Vienna Austria during the Korean Conflict. Bob was a retired Tool and Die Maker for the old Reliance Electric Company in Madison, Indiana, where he worked for 31 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 0173 in Versailles, Indiana and a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 765 in Madison, Indiana. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale Dake; two brothers, William Warren Dake and Walter Dake and two sisters, Rosemary Ann Wells and Betty Gordon. Bob leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Doris (Johnson) Dake; a daughter, Melissa Ann Reardon (Vern) of Scottsburg, Indiana; a daughter-in-law, Irene "Tooty" Dake of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren, Jimmy Brock (Sara), Stacy Christie (Bob), Robert Dake (Elizabeth), Roger Daniel Dake, Brian Reardon (Amber) and Joshua Reardon and ten great grandchildren, Josh, Jayden, Carter, Alexis and Taylor Reardon, Parker and Emmerson Brock, McKnight and Clementine Dake and Mason Christie. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home with Danny Dake officiating. Funeral services may also be viewed on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 1:00 pm on Saturday.Visitation: 11:30 am to 1:00 pm Saturday at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive mandate. Cremation is requested following Bob's services with burial at a later date in Scottsburg Cemetery.
