Steven R. Tobias, 67, of Lexington, Indiana, was a caring husband, son, brother, loving dad, and grandfather. He passed away suddenly on Friday, March 3, 2023. Steve was born on March 25, 1955, in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late Carl Tobias and Onna (Conrad) Tobias, who survives. Steve graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1973, then went to work for the old Scott County Stone. He retired as Operations Manager of the Old Scott County Stone Company now Hanson Aggregates in Lexington, Indiana after forty-three years of service. On April 15, 1983, he was united in holy matrimony to Joy L. (Arbuckle) Tobias, who survives. Steve was a devout Christian and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He loved spending time outside at his home in Silver Springs, Florida, pruning his rose bushes and fruit trees. Steve was preceded in death by his father. He will be sadly missed by his survivors including his mother, Onna of Scottsburg, Indiana; wife, Joy of Lexington, Indiana; son, Andrew Fisse and grandson, Nicolas "Nic" Fisse both of Lexington, Indiana; brother, Robert (Shirley) Tobias of Deputy, Indiana; and sister, Tammy (Terry) Davis of Scottsburg, Indiana. In addition to his several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, Steve will be greatly missed by his church family at Trinity Baptist. In memory of Steve there will be Funeral Service 12:00 Noon Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Trinity Baptist Church in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor Darrell Johnson officiating. Visitation 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Saturday. Interment will follow at Little York Cemetery in Little York, Indiana.
