Velma Lynn Moody, 71, of Lexington, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at her residence. She was born on September 15, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Goins) Campbell. Velma graduated from Scottsburg High School. She married Robert Moody, who passed away December 26, 2013. Velma loved being a mom and a mamaw, always being active in the kids lives. Whether she was acting as cub scout leader, spear heading a fund raiser, or sitting in the stands at a sporting event, she loved every minute of it. She turned being a grandma into a full time job. In addition to her parents and husband Velma is preceded in death by her son, Phillip and sister, Carol (Albert) Whitaker. Survivors include three sons, Brian (Jennifer) Petty of Lexington, Indiana, Mike (Megan) Petty of Madison, Indiana, and Tony Petty of Lexington, Indiana; two sisters, Karen Combs and Jenita (Russell) Long; three brothers, Larry Campbell, Gary Campbell, and Alan (Sherri) Campbell; fifteen grandchildren, Dustin, Brianna, Carl "C.J." Jaylynn, Jaslynn, Jerome, Courtney, Sarah, Chris, Sean, Brailey, Noah, David, Paige, and Charity; and ten great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor Johnny Bowling officiating. Visitation: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment at Emmanuel Baptist Cemetery in Lexington, Indiana.
