Obituary

Ada Lynn Boatright, 79, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Louisville, Kentucky, on December 10, 2025, with her loving husband by her side. She was born on November 11, 1946, in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late James Terrell St. Clair and Mildred (Wakeland) St. Clair. Ada graduated from Scottsburg High School with the class of 1964 and went on to Purdue University where she earned a Master's Degree in Clinical Pharmacy. Ada devoted over 40 years of her life to serving patients as a clinical pharmacist with 10 years at the Methodist Hospital and 34 years at University of Louisville Hospital. Her colleagues and patients alike cherished her warm spirit and unwavering commitment to care. Ada was a passionate supporter of the arts, with a particular love for the Louisville Ballet, Broadway Productions, and Orchestral Performances. Her enthusiasm for the arts was matched only by her dedication to her church and numerous charitable endeavors. She often volunteered at Norton Children's Hospital, sharing her time and compassion with those in need. She enjoyed playing Bridge and Pinochle. In their free time Ken and Ada loved to travel the world and go on cruises together. Ada was a member of the Scottish SinClair Clan, order of the Eastern Star, and was a Kentucky Colonel. Ada was preceded in death by her parents, Terrell and Mildred St. Clair. She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Boatright; her devoted son, James Ryan (Caroline) Boatright; her cherished brother, Roger (Carol) St. Clair; and her two grandchildren Malo and Zia. Ada's legacy lives on through them and all those she touched with her kindness and love. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 12:00pm Noon at St. Matthews Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 10:00am till time of service at 12:00pm at the church. Burial will follow the service at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, Ada's family is asking donations to be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her memory c/o Collins Funeral Home.
