Aileen Estes

Aileen Estes, 81, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on June 2, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born on August 9, 1944 in Perry County, Kentucky, to Green Barrett and Lizzie (Deaton) Barrett. Aileen was a remarkable woman known for her toughness, unwavering work ethic, and deep devotion to her loved ones. As a dedicated homemaker, she cultivated a warm and welcoming environment, where her family gathered to share love and laughter. Aileen's strength and determination were evident in everything she did, and she would go above and beyond to provide for her family. She is preceded in death by her father, Green Barrett; one son, Bob Bowling; and two brothers, Frank Barrett and Scott Barrett. Aileen is survived by her husband of 47 years Virgil Estes; mother, Lizzie Barrett; two sons, Micah (Carol) Bowling and Chris (Laura) Bowling; three sisters, Linda (Gordy) Montgomery, Anna (Larry) Vancleve, and Dorothy (Marvin) Amos; three brothers, Hubert Barrett, Boyd Barrett, and Taylor Barrett; three grandchildren, Lacey Bowling, Slater Bowling, and Bo Bowling; five great grandchildren; and her dog, Keebler. Cremation was entrusted to Collins Funeral Home, a celebration of Aileen's life will take place in the coming days, with a service designed to honor her spirit and the love she shared.
