Alan L. Edwards, 73, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on October 4, 1947 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the son of the late Walter "Red" Edwards, Jr. and Lorna L. (Petty) Edwards. Alan graduated from Scottsburg High School in the Class of 1966 and served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1996 from Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana, where he worked for 30 years. Alan was a member of the Scottsburg United Methodist Church, was a car enthusiast and an avid Indiana University fan. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sharon (Charles) Edwards; a son, Michael Edwards (Rudy Garcia) of Palm Springs, California; a daughter, Marcia A. Mullins (Kenny) of Charlestown, Indiana; a sister, Pam Nichols (Kenny) of Greenwood, Indiana and four grandchildren, Kyle, Logan Alan and Mason Stewart Mullins and Morgan Richey. Private services were held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home with Shepherd Bill Talbott officiating. Cremation services were requested following Alan's services.
