Amanda S. "Mandy" Powers, 64, of Lexington, Indiana passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, at her home. She was born on June 27, 1958, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the daughter of the late William Virgil Powers and Wanda G. (Mauk) Lynch. She was a former assistant manager for several area Burger King Restaurants for twenty years. She was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Scottsburg, Indiana. Mandy loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her other love was cooking, she was well known for her lasagna and meat loaf. Also, she loved to play cards with her best friend Maryanne and her aunt Sandy and loved watching wrestling. Mandy was known as a mom and grandma to several others that she claimed as hers whether they were family or not. She was preceded in death by parents; two brothers, Dana Mauk and Billy Powers; and sister, Teresa Korte. Survivors include son, James William (Stefanie) Baxter, Jr. of Lexington, Indiana; daughter, Heather Renee' (Cody) Freeman of Henryville, Indiana; sister, Joletta Powers of Brooklyn, Indiana; brother, David Wayne Powers of Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren, Destiney (Donald) Garvey, Robert Moore, Brooklyn Blavat, Mark, and Josh Dodge. Funeral Service: 3:00 pm Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Collins Funeral Home with Pastor Matt McGlothlin officiating. Visitation: 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Saturday.
