Anna Marie Cross, 92, of Seymour, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born on January 28, 1930, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of the late Albert and Grace (Adams) Gilham. On May 15, 1946, she married Flemon Cross, who passed away on April 11, 1993. She was a longtime member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Lexington, Indiana. She was the ultimate homemaker. After raising her eleven children she often cared for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Anna was a very lovable, caring and motherly figure to anyone she met. She had wonderful cooking skills and was an avid quilter. Her quilts were magnificent. Anna loved to worship God through hymns; her favorites were Jimmy Swaggert and The Gaither Family. In addition to her parents and husband, Flemon, Anna is preceded in death by six sons, Melvin, David, Ronald, Danny, Robert and James Cross; three brothers, Mark Gilham, Thomas Gilham, and Pete Gilham; two sisters, Elizabeth Ward and Lilian Martin; and one daughter-in-law, Sue Cross. Survivors include her son, Roger Cross of Blocher; four daughters, Marilyn Nowling of Seymour, Donna (John) Clark of Versailles, Brenda Cross of Blocher, and Charlene Brothers of Jeffersonville; three sisters, Dorothy Pittman of Edinburgh, Rosalie Girt of North Vernon, Katheryn Olds of North Vernon; and daughter-in-law, Marlene Cross; nineteen grandchildren; thirty- seven great grandchildren; and fourteen great great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 11:00 am Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with John Clark officiating. Visitation: 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 31, 2022, and after 10:00 am Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment at Emmanuel Baptist Cemetery in Lexington, Indiana.
