Anthony Andy Yates

Anthony "Andy" Yates, 75, of Charlestown, IN, passed away July 23, 2026, at Norton Hospice Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Andy was born September 8, 1950, in Ironton, Ohio, the son of Roy and Ruby Yates. He was a dedicated professional truck driver for more than 30 years and later shared his experience as a CDL Examiner, taking great pride in teaching others. Andy loved his family, fishing, and was an avid collector of pocket knives. He enjoyed watching Westerns-especially films and shows starring Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson-and he adored his dog, Winston.In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy A. Yates; daughter, Heather Leanna Amanda Fortney and his dog, Winston. He is survived by his son, Tony Yates(Amanda); daughter, Tabitha Woods(Joshua); brother, Richard Yates; along with 4 grandchildren, Eric, Cameron Woods, Hannah Humphary, Cody Warf.

There will be a graveside service held on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 2pm located at Lexington Cemetery.
