Obituary

Arthur "Art" Campbell, 81, of Deputy, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Lake Pointe Village in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on April 23, 1939 in Napfor, Kentucky, the son of the late Irvin and Viola (Lewis) Campbell. Art was the retired head custodian for Scottsburg High School, where he worked for 27 years and also a former driver for the old Perrin Gas and Oil in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was a former member of the Amick-Baker-Kellems Lodge #156, Moose Family Center # 2324 and the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department. Art was an avid UK fan, Scottsburg High School fan, loved being with his grandchildren and raising a huge garden. In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Downs and two brothers, Jim and George Campbell. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mae Campbell; two daughters, Jenny Richey (Bryan) of Scottsburg, Indiana and Wanda Campbell (Tobie Wilson) of Austin, Indiana; two sons, Arthur Lee "Archie" Campbell (Jess Richey) of Scottsburg, Indiana and Edward Ray Campbell (Mayra) of Clarksville, Tennessee; two brothers, Charlie Campbell (Joyce) and Don Campbell (Peggy) all of North Vernon, Indiana; three sisters, Lois Bailey and Betty Hybarger both of North Vernon, Indiana and Kathleen Fields (Ed) of Hazard, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Sarah Belding (Paul), Susan Thomas, Randy Richey, Logan and Landon Campbell, Trent, Dustin and Tyler Campbell and ten great grandchildren. A private family funeral service will be held Sunday at 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Zoah Christian Church with Pastor Mike Shuler officiating. There will be a drive by visitation for Art and his family from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday at Zoah Christian Church. Following his funeral service, Art's funeral procession will will circle his beloved Scottsburg High School on the way to his final resting place in the Collins Family Cemetery near Deputy, Indiana.
