Barbara J. Hedge, 88, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born on May 30, 1936, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of the late George Belshaw and Dorothy (Schnellbacher) Belshaw. She was a 1954 graduate of David Starr Jordan High School in Long Beach, California. On August 27, 1955, she married the love of her life, Paul R. Hedge, who passed away January 29, 2012. She was a retired legal assistant for the old Railing Law Firm and Houston & Thompson, Attorneys at Law both in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was a member of the Scottsburg United Methodist Church Scottsburg, Indiana and a Life member of the Phi Beta Psi Sorority and past National President & National Treasurer of Phi Beta Psi Sorority. In addition to her parents and husband, Paul, Barbara was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne Hedge; a brother, George L. Belshaw; a sister, Margaret Miller; and a granddaughter, Ashley Deaton-Hedge. Survivors include son, Scott P. (Michelle) Hedge of Scottsburg, Indiana; four grandchildren, Journey, Jacob, Gracee & Ellee Hedge; two great grandchildren, Braylin & Jayleigh Coomer. Funeral Service 11:00 am Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor Zachary Manton officiating. Visitation 4:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, August 30, 2024, and after 10:00am Saturday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
