Benjamin A. Everitt, 71, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus. He was born on February 28, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of the late Thomas Benjamin Everitt and Frances K. (Allen) Everitt. After graduating from Scottsburg High School in 1967, Ben earned a Bachelors Degree in History from Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana. On January 29, 1976, he married Janet K. (Morris) Everitt. Ben worked as a purchasing agent for the old I.C.I. America in Charlestown, Indiana for many years until it closed and then took the same position for Servend in Sellersburg, Indiana until retirement. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Purchasing Management Association. Ben loved all types of music and collected CD's of many different artist. He was also a huge baseball fan and had collected thousands of baseball cards over his lifetime. Ben also enjoyed being outdoors and took great pride in the way his home and yard were kept. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Janet K. Everitt; his son, Dustin Everitt of Sellersburg, Indiana; his twin brother, Thomas F. Everitt (Diann) of Auburn, Indiana; two sisters, Kathleen Everitt Jones and Eve Everitt Hickey (Dale) all of Asheville, North Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved cat, Pumpkin. Funeral Service: 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home with Phil LaMaster officiating. Funeral services may also be viewed on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 2:00 pm on Tuesday. Visitation: 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Tuesday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive mandate.
