Benjamin Lainhart

Benjamin "Ben" Lainhart, 63, of Salem, Indiana beloved brother and friend, passed away on October 20, 2026. He was born on August 20, 1963, in Scottsburg, Indiana, to the late John Burman and Katie (Spivey) Lainhart. Ben was known for his vibrant spirit and infectious sense of humor. He was a proud member of the Salem American Legion Post #41. Ben shared his love for storytelling and musical remastering with fellow veterans and friends alike. Those who knew Ben will fondly remember him for his lively personality and the joy he brought to every gathering. In addition to his parents Benjamin was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Darlene (Barnett) Lamb; six brothers, Jackie Lainhart, John "Jay" Lainhart, Jerry Lainhart, Ronnie "Cash" Lainhart, Ottis Lainhart, and Howard Lainhart; two sisters, Ica Wilkerson and Evelyn Law; and several nieces and nephews. Ben is survived by his loving siblings, including his sister, Shirley (Joe) Sears; brother, Charles (Betty) Lainhart; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held in his honor at New Hope Cemetery on October 23, 2026, at 11:00am. Following the service, Ben will be laid to rest, providing a space for family and friends to gather and pay their respects.
