BernaDene B. Niewedde, 81, of Crothersville, Indiana passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at her residence. She was born on March 22, 1942 in Jackson, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Samuel Vires and Beullah (Robertson) Rose, both precede her in death. BernaDene was a 1959 graduate of Austin High School in Austin, Indiana. On November 4, 1989 she married Fred B. Niewedde, who passed away November 18, 2020. BernaDene worked for eight years at the U.S Shoe Factory in Osgood, Indiana and Crothersville, Indiana. She enjoyed her trips to the Smokies and reading Country Living magazines. BernaDene loved spending time with her kids and grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Charles Jeffrey Akers. Survivors include her three daughters, Pam Akers-Campbell of Seymour, Indiana, Nena (Donnie) Akers-Elam of Scottsburg, Indiana; and Shelly Barrett of Fort Worth, Texas; stepson, Brian Keith (Kim) Niewedde of Rising Sun, Indiana; stepdaughter, Drucilla Kay (Gary) Hopkins of Scottsburg, Indiana; and her brother, Charles (Norma) Vires of Port Orange, Florida. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Cremation services were entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
