Obituary

Bethel Sizemore, 76, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Lake Pointe Village in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on July 15, 1943 in Campbells Creek, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Curtis Colwell and Dorothy (Collins) Roe. Bethel graduated from Buckhorn High School in Buckhorn, Kentucky in the Class of 1963. She was a retired salad bar prep person for the Ponderosa in Scottsburg, Indiana, was a loving mother and a baby sitter for many families in the community. Bethel was a member of the World Outreach for Christ in Scottsburg, Indiana, where she belonged to the Sonshiners Ladies Bible Study Group, loved to do word search puzzles and spend time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Perkins Colwell and a sister, Beulah Langdon. Survivors include three daughters, Joyce DeHart and husband James and Shirley Boissonnault and husband Jason all of Racine, Wisconsin and April McConnell of Louisville, Kentucky; a son, Clarence Sizemore of Seymour, Indiana; a brother, Oakley Colwell of Chicago, Illinois; two sisters, Cassie McIntosh of Krypton, Kentucky and Grethel Whitaker of Indianapolis, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Amanda Karels (Mark), Matthew DeHart (Hayley), Ashley Scifres, Christian and Siara Sizemore, Alex and Ian Boissonnault and Chase Sizemore and four great grandchildren, Luke and Jacob Karels and Isabella and Caiden Scifres. Funeral Service: 11:00 am on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home with Pastor James Donahue officiating. Visitation: 9 to 11 am Friday at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face coverings are required. Funeral services may also be viewed on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 11:00 am on Friday, July 17, 2020. Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.
