Betty J. Alsup, 86, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at her residence with her family by her side. She was born on July 5, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of the late Noah Glenn Murphy and Helen Marie (Blanton) Murphy. On April 2, 1966, she married, Haskell E. Alsup, who passed away on February 28, 2013. She was a loving homemaker for her family. Betty was a member of The old Moonglo Southern Baptist Church in Scottsburg, Indiana. She loved spending all her time with her family. Betty adored her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed singing and dancing. In addition to her parents and husband, Haskell, Betty is preceded in death by one son, Rodney Boyd; two brothers, Ronnie Lloyd and Tim Capps; and two sisters, Patricia Donnell and Jenny Brown. Survivors include two sons, Bill (Tonwia) Shepherd of Dayton, Ohio and Tommy Boyd of Scottsburg, Indiana; three daughters, Linda (Danny) Boyd of Scottsburg, Indiana, Brenda (Bob) Marlow of Dayton, Ohio, and Monica Nevils of Scottsburg, Indiana; four sisters, Donna (Jeff) Powell of Bloomington, Indiana, Anna Marie (Randy) Bunch of Bedford, Indiana, Laquita (Kyle) Kirkman of Bloomington, Indiana, and Frances (Mark) Incollingo of Bloomington, Indiana; eleven grandchildren, Shane, Dustin, Kyle, Jeremy, Mandy, Brandy, Billy, Charity, Andy, Kenny, and Missy; and twenty-two great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 3:00 pm Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor Rick Lauterbach officiating. Visitation 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, June 23, 2023, and 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm Saturday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
