Betty Doreen Bridgewater, 88, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born on July 21, 1932 in Scott County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Herbert Alfred Parks and Eva Ethel (Coleman) Parks. Betty was a former accounting technician for the U.S. Civil Service and had worked at multiple locations. She was a member of the Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church. the Scott Memorial Hospital Guild, Scott County Genealogical Society and past President and member of the Estil Homemakers Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles Leslie Bridgewater and a brother, Herbie Parks. Survivors include a brother: Lawrence C. Parks and his wife Linda of Scottsburg, Indiana; five nieces and nephews and several great and great great nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy Mohon officiating. Funeral services may also be viewed by the public on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 2:00 pm on Tuesday. Visitation: 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Tuesday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed and will be limited to 50 people in the building. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive mandate. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
