Betty Sue Gibson, 75, of Lexington, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at her residence with her loving family by her side, including her granddaughter, Tyra, who was her selfless caregiver for the past seven months. She was born on August 19, 1946, in Dizney, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Olin and Irene (Cox) Thomas. On August 28, 1965, she married Gary Dale Gibson, who survives. She was a retired employee of General Electric in Louisville, Kentucky where she worked for thirty-four years. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by a sister, Mildred F. "Mickey" Vandegrift; and two brothers, Harold and Ralph Thomas. Survivors include her husband of fifty-seven years, Gary Dale Gibson; three sons, Gary Allen Gibson of Scottsburg, Indiana, Jeffery Allen (Cassidy) Gibson of Commiskey, Indiana, and Mason Gibson of Lexington, Indiana; daughter, Lisa Dawn (Danny) Dunn of Lexington, Indiana; brother, Ronald (Pam) Thomas of Lexington, Indiana; two sisters, Carol Huttsell of Scottsburg, Indiana and Eula (Jim) Hoard of Blocher, Indiana; stepson, Michael Smith of Lexington, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Tyra (Alex), Tristen, Dale (Brittney), Derrick, Dustin, and Darci; and twenty great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 2:00 pm Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Joe Arevalos officiating. Visitation: 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Saturday at Collins Funeral Home.
