Betty Mae Stuart, 82 of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at The Waters of Scottsburg in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on December 6, 1940 in Lee County, Kentucky, to the late James Price and Mae (Allen) Cole. She retired from The Old US Shoe Factory in Crothersville, Indiana and was a member of the Community Church of God. Betty loved children and cooking. On September 30, 1966 she married James Stuart, who preceded her in death in 2009. She was also preceded in death by her four brothers, John Cole, Fred Cole, Lenvil Cole, and Leonard Cole; three sisters Francis Raines, Veulah Hohins, and Nellie Gaine Cole. She is survived by her son, Virgil Stuart of Scottsburg, Indiana; four brothers Ralph Cole of Clarksville, Ohio; Lonny (June) Cole of West Union, Ohio; Denvil Cole of Pleasant Plain, Ohio and Harold Cole of Lexington, Kentucky; two sisters Dottie Wheeler of Lexington, Kentucky and Catherine Cole of Lexington, Kentucky. Services will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at the Community Church of God in Austin, Indiana with Glen Waldon officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday August 29, 2023 at Collins Funeral Home and 3:00 pm on Wednesday until the time of service at Community Church of God.
