Beverly Jo Romero, 74, of Lexington, Indiana passed away on February 14, 2026, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born on December 10, 1951, in Scottsburg, Indiana, to the late Lewis LaMaster and Ruby (Braden) LaMaster, where she would later build a life dedicated to family, faith, and community. Beverly graduated from Scottsburg Senior High School in 1970. She then married the love of her life Ricardo Romero on July 27, 1974, and he survives. Beverly worked at the Old Scott County State Bank, where she served with dedication for over 17 years. She was a beloved member of her community, known not only for her kindness but also for her passionate involvement with Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she touched the lives of many through her unwavering faith. Beverly found joy in planting flowers and working in her yard. She took great joy in watching her grandchildren grow and cherished the moments spent with her great-grandchildren, reveling in the laughter and memories they created together. Beverly is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Steve LaMaster. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 52 years, Rick; daughter, Tammy (Richard) Royse; brother, Gary (Audrey) LaMaster; sister, Sharon LaMaster; three grandchildren, Malachi (Lea) Akemon, Lauren (Alyssa) Hall, and Carson Royse; and three great grandchildren Alaric Akemon, Lainey Akemon, and Braylon Hines. She is also survived by a large extended family, including many in‑laws. Funeral services will be conducted at Collins Funeral Home on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00am. There will also be a viewing on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and viewing will be prior to the service Friday from 9:00am to 11:00am. Burial will follow the services at Emmanuel Baptist Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana. Memorial donations can be made in Beverly's name to Hosparus Health in c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
