Billie Coates, 46, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away from lung cancer on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 1, 1976 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the daughter of the late Penny (Richey) North and Bill Hall. Billie married Mikel Coates, who survives. Billie loved her husband Mikel of 29 years, enjoyed her privacy and time at home, spending time with her fur babies Fussy and Bear, anime, reading and her family. Survivors include her husband, Mikel Coates of Scottsburg, Indiana; her son, Mikel Brendan Coates of Sellersburg, Indiana; her daughter, Brittney Lynn Coates of Clarksville, Indiana; her two sisters, Amy (Larry) Richey-Shuler of Scottsburg, Indiana and Katryina McCormick of Scottsburg, Indiana; her mother-in-law, Linda Coates of Sellersburg, Indiana; her pups, Fussy and Bear; and aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Cremation was entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with a Celebration of Life 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, September 26, 2022, at the Collins Family Center.
