Obituary

Billy "Joe T" Tidwell, 79, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at his residence. He was born on July 7, 1941 in Greenhill, Alabama, the son of the late Douglas and Icie (Sims) Tidwell. Joe was a self-employed contractor, enjoyed the outdoors and working around his house and woods. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, William and Danny Tidwell and two sisters, Nancy Weekes and Faye Hodges. Survivors include a daughter, Lisa (Brian) Weekes of Scottsburg, Indiana; two stepdaughters, Anayeli (David) Douglas and Patricia Zweydorff both of New Albany, Indiana; one brother, Tom Tidwell of Florida; two grandchildren, Brian Rios and Sharon Garcia and one great grandson, Xavier Rios. Funeral Service: 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Flucke officiating. Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday and after 10:00 am on Tuesday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed and will be limited to 50 people in the building. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive mandate.
