Bonnie Kaye Martin, 75, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away peacefully on August 6, 2024 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on April 22, 1949 in Scottsburg, Indiana, to the late John R. "Bob" Martin and Iva "Ivy" (Price) Martin. Bonnie graduated from Scottsburg Senior High School in 1967 and went on to earn a degree from House of James Beauty College. She started her career as a hairdresser and went on to work at numerous salons in her lifetime. Bonnie will always be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and her passion for gardening, where she found solace and beauty in nurturing the earth. Bonnie also enjoyed baking, dancing, and decorating. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Iva Martin. Bonnie is survived by a son, Martin Wire of Springfield, Michigan; a daughter, Carin Alfred of Scottsburg, Indiana; two brothers, Ron Martin of Rodeo, California, John (Janice) Martin of Scottsburg, Indiana; seven sisters; Arleen (Manfred) Schulze of Land O' Lakes, Florida, Jeanie (Ray) Borden of Scottsburg, Indiana, Lois (Bill) Gambrell of Acworth, Georgia, Pam (Bob) Colwell of Sebring, Florida, Linda (Denny) Wilson of Scottsburg, Indiana, Rebecca (Mark) Suter of Greenwood, Indiana, and Joyce (Brent) Gray of North Vernon, Indiana; and six grandchildren, Christian Wire, Kayla (Sean) Quisenberry, Paige (Matthew) Brown, Matthew (Diane) Baker, Ryan, and Peyton Baker. A service will be held at Collins Funeral Home at 12:00 pm on Monday, August 12, 2024. A visitation will be prior to the service at the Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Monday. Cremation was entrusted to Collins Funeral Home with interment at a later date in Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
