Obituary

Brenda S. Spicer, born on August 25, 1956, in Scottsburg, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, leaving behind cherished memories for her family and friends. Known by many for her warm heart and hard-working spirit, Brenda dedicated her years to being a laborer at Callaway Oil Company and Scottsburg Plastics, contributing greatly to her community.

Brenda is survived by her daughters, Mary Juanita Berry and Jennifer Renee Berry; her brother, Billy McNear; and her sisters, Bonnie Riley, Faye Casey, and Joyce Cooper, her niece, Lisa Kattman (Eugene Amos), several nieces and nephews and several grandchildren. Together, they celebrate her life and the bonds they shared.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Elsie McNear and her husband, Joseph Spicer.

Friends and family are invited to come together to remember Brenda. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, August 22, 2025 at Collins Funeral Home. Friends may visit with her family from 11:00 am until the funeral service. Following the service, Brenda will be laid to rest in Scottsburg cemetery, where loved ones can visit and honor her memory.

Brenda touched the lives of many, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Let's gather to share our stories, laugh, and remember the wonderful moments we had with her.
