Brian Dakota Gary, 28, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at his residence. He was born on May 31, 1991 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the son of Randall Gary and Angela Deaton. Brian graduated from Scottsburg High School in the Class of 2010 and then joined the United States Marine Corp. While in the Marine Corp he was injured and later medically discharged after being promoted to Sergeant. Brian enjoyed working on cars, listening to music and sometimes helped as a DJ. His family and friends said he always wanted to be the life of the party. Brian especially loved his daughters and spending time with them. Survivors include his fiance', Samantha LaMaster of Scottsburg, Indiana; two daughters, Mallory and MaKaya Gary both of Scottsburg, Indiana; his mother and stepfather, Angela Deaton Robbins and Dale of Scottsburg, Indiana; his father, Randall Gary of Scottsburg, Indiana; two brothers, Stephen Gary (Lindsey) and Justin Gary (Desaray) all of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister, Aarika Robbins (Blake) of Pekin, Indiana; his grandparents, Janice Gary of Lexington, Indiana and David and Kathern Deaton of Scottsburg, Indiana; the mother of his children, Bethany Bowling of Scottsburg, Indiana; his aunts, Amy, Billie, Sonya, Michelle and Karen; uncles, Joe, Rob, Kenny, Michael and Ralph; nieces, Alexis, Summer and Emma and a nephew, Peyton. Funeral services will be private and for immediate family only due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, CDC recommendations, State and Local government mandates and the family's wishes. Services may be viewed on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. Cremation is requested following Brian's services with burial at a later date in New Providence Cemetery.
