Carl Banks, 59, of Salem, Indiana passed away on June 28, 2026, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on August 19, 1966 in Jackson, Kentucky, to Carlisle Banks and Louise (Simpkins) Banks. On January 28, 1994 he married Mary Spencer, and she survives. Carl was a dedicated plumber and pipe fitter, proudly serving Ivey Mechanical LLC out of Louisville, Kentucky, for 14 years. He found immense joy in his life outside of work, particularly in riding his beloved Harley Davidson motorcycle and honing his skills in woodworking. Over the years, he created beautiful pieces of furniture for his wife, Mary, showcasing not only his craftsmanship but also his love for his family. Carl is preceded in death by his parents; infant sibling; and one step son, Michael P. Morris. In addition to his wife, Mary, Carl is survived by one son, Matthew Banks; step son, David W. Morris; step daughter, Angela D. Davidson; two sisters, Carolyn (George) Smith and Diane DeWeese; one brother, Harlan (Shana) Banks; grandchildren, Matthew Banks, Bentley Banks, Destiny Mihalic; and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren. The funeral service for Carl Banks will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 1:00pm at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be prior to the service on Friday, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Collins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Cemetery in Austin, Indiana. Online Condolences:www.collinsfuneralhome.net
