Carl E. Hall, Sr., 83, of Underwood, Indiana, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on April 30, 1937 in Underwood, Indiana, the son of the late Chester A. Hall and Anna Alice (Morgan) Hall. Carl was married on Dec. 27, 1955 to Maxine (Robison) Hall, and they have been blessed with 64 years together. He was a retired custodian and school bus driver for Scott County School District II in Scottsburg, Indiana, where he worked for 28 years and was also a farmer. Carl was a member of the Vienna United Methodist Church, where he had served as a song leader. He enjoyed gardening, playing guitar and singing, loved being outdoors and driving his tractors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Hall and a sister, Delores M. Beare. Survivors include his wife, Maxine Hall; two daughters, Annette Backus (Bob) of Scottsburg, Indiana and Donna Kopp (Gary) of Crestview, Florida; a son, Carl E. "Buck" Hall, Jr. (Kelli) of Underwood, Indiana; two brothers, Robert A. Hall (Janet) and Chester Dale Hall (Mary Etta) all of Underwood, Indiana; fourteen grandchildren, Richard A. Williams, Christina M. Williams-Browning (Scott), Zachary T., Logan M. and Jessica D. Backus, Baron A. Kopp (Kristal), Kyle J. Kopp (Crystal), Derrick J. Hall (Kayla), Jacob D. Hall (Caitlin), Colten J. Hall (Alyssa), Courtney Coots (Tucker), Dylan, Nathan and Rachel Applegate; seven great grandchildren, Justin, Alyssa, Hayden, Leylah, Bella, Connor and Piper and one great great grandson, Liam. Funeral services will be private and for immediate family only due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, CDC recommendations, State and Local government mandates and the family's wishes. Services may be viewed on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 2:30 pm on Thursday, May 7, 2020. Interment will be in Sodom Cemetery in Underwood, Indiana.
