Carol Jane Standifer, 58, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at her residence. She was born on October 21, 1961 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the daughter of Thomas Collins and Mary (Potter) Collins-Byrne. Carol graduated from Charlestown High School in 1980 and was then married on June 21, 1980 to Julian Todd Standifer, spending the last 39 years together. She was a homemaker and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness. Carol and Todd had lived in Charlestown, Indiana, Memphis, Tennessee, Olive Branch, Mississippi, Conway, Arkansas, Augusta, Georgia and Scottsburg. During their 39 years of marriage, Carol served as a full time pioneer in the door to door preaching work for her congregation as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She valued first and foremost teaching the truth of the Bible about Jehovah and his promise for the future and looks forward to living with her husband Todd forever after resurrection here on a Paradise Earth. When Carol had time to herself, she loved gardening, working in her flowers and spending time outdoors. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Collins. Survivors include her husband, Todd Standifer; her mother and stepfather, Mary and Gary Byrne of Pekin, Indiana. two sisters, Patricia Stewart (Richard) of Henryville, Indiana and Mary Toppe (John) of Brownstown, Indiana; one nephew, Thomas Stewart (Sunny); two nieces, Samantha Paynter (David) and Sonya Baldauf (Walter) and her two dogs that she loved, Presley and Wrennie.
