Carolyn Claudette Anderson, 53, of Austin, Indiana passed away at her home on Thursday, September 28, 2023. She was born on September 9, 1970. She was the daughter of the late Lois Sanders and Howard Sanders Jr. Carolyn graduated from Austin High School in 1988, where she enjoyed cheerleading and gymnastics. After high school she decided to pursue a degree in nursing where she graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1992. After living in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Kodiak, Alaska, Sacramento, California, and Mobile, Alabama, she moved back to Austin, Indiana to be with family. She continued her nursing career here at Clark Memorial hospital and Floyd Memorial hospital. Ending her career with home health. She was nurse for over 30 years and enjoyed helping others. Some of her favorite activities were shopping, traveling, fishing, and most importantly spending time with family. Survivors include her son, Mitch Anderson (Mindy) of Memphis, Indiana; brother, Marion Sanders of Austin, Indiana; niece, Emily Lytle (Cory) of Lake Wales, Florida; former husband, Chuck Anderson (Scott) of Apollo Beach, Florida; and two granddaughters, Sienna Anderson and Katelynn Anderson of Memphis, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lois Sanders; father, Howard Sanders Jr. both of Austin, Indiana; and one grandson, Kody Anderson. Service will be at Collins Funeral Home on Tuesday October 3, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12:00 pm until the time of service.
