Catherine C. Rose, 89, of Underwood, Indiana passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at her residence. She was born on August 14, 1933 in Underwood, Indiana, the daughter of the late George and Mary (Beckett) Brishaber. Catherine was a housekeeper at several nursing homes and at Austin Elementary School in Austin, Indiana. She was a proud member of the New Chapel United Methodist Church, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post #1083, American Legion Post #234, and Sunshine Homemakers. On January 28, 1951 she married Mearl Edgar Rose. Catherine enjoyed crocheting, being involved in 4-H, animals, and most importantly spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Mearl Edgar Rose; parents; two brothers, James and her twin, Calvin Brishaber; one sister, Helen VanMeter; and three stepdaughters, Dixie Woods, Delores Lawhon, and Linda Clements. Survivors include her children, Glenna (Roger) Hardin of Scottsburg, Indiana, Mariann Banks of Scottsburg, Indiana, Wanda McIntosh of Underwood, Indiana, Sondra (Grover) Stacy of Austin, Indiana, Lucky (Karen) Rose of Underwood, Indiana, Billy Rose of Underwood, Indiana, Scotty Rose of Underwood, Indiana, Eddy (Clarissa) Rose of Austin, Indiana, Rollan Rose of Ft. Meyers, Florida and Victor Joe Rose of Ft. Meyers, Florida; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
