Charles Russell Lamb, 71, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Baptist Floyd Health Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. He was born on October 16, 1949 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late James William Lamb and Imogene Loretta (Beard) Lamb. Charlie graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1968. He married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Jean (Kimberlin) Lamb on July 6, 1968 and she preceded him in death on Dec. 25, 2006. Charlie was a retired parts runner and scale operator for Nugent Sand Company in Louisville, Kentucky, where he worked for 30 years and was a member of the Springdale United Methodist Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana, where he had served as a lay minister. He served in the Indiana Army National Guard, enjoyed reading his bible, watching the TBN and Hallmark movie channels. Charlie loved going on car rides with his daughters, especially in the Jeep with the top off. He enjoyed traveling to Florida and watching sports, with his favorite being baseball. Charlie always looked forward to spending a few weeks each summer in Michigan with his daughter Tonya, her husband Bill and his grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Tonya E. Pyles (William) of Howell, Michigan and Loretta J. Marlin (Brick) of New Albany, Indiana; a sister, Edith Achelpohl of Arizona and two grandchildren, Cassandra and Nathan Pyles. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home with Pastor David Johnson officiating. Funeral services may also be viewed on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 1:00 pm on Tuesday. Visitation: 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive mandate.
