IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Clara Marie
Carter
November 16, 1963 – June 18, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Clara Marie "Bonnie" Carter, who left us peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the age of 61. Bonnie was born on November 16, 1963, in Effingham, Illinois to Elwood "Bud" and Violet Eggbert Carter, who have preceded her in death. Bonnie touched the lives of many with her kindness and vibrant spirit. She graduated from Clarksville High School.
Bonnie was not just a mother, but a cherished confidante and friend to many. She was blessed with three loving children: Kelly Munoz and her husband, Rafael, April Spitznagel and her husband, Carmon, and Christopher Spitznagel and his fiance', Clara Smith, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Bonnie embraced her role as a grandmother with unmatched enthusiasm, finding joy and pride in every moment spent with her grandchildren, Danielle Ferguson, Alexis Fiveash, Savanah Spitznagel, Aiden Munoz, Caleb Fiveash and Michael Rowe. She will also be remembered fondly by her sister, Catherine Cross and her husband, Bob, her brothers, Curt Carter and his wife, Peggy, Cal Carter and his longtime companion, Lois, and Dallas Carter and his wife, Ann, her best friend, Randall Spitznagel and her loving pets, Lily, Baby Girl, Shadow, Tori and Jasmine.
Her life was characterized by her love for family, her passion for socializing with friends, and her infectious love for singing, dancing, and bowling. Bonnie's laughter and spirit brought light to every gathering, and she had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special.
A funeral service will be held at Collins Funeral Home on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 12:00 PM, allowing family and friends to celebrate her life and gather in remembrance. A public viewing will take place prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
In our grief, we find solace in the beautiful memories we shared with Bonnie. Her love will resonate through our lives always; she will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
