Claudia Jean Stoop, 72, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on May 17, 1947 in Hazard, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Troy Hampton and Stella (Sturgill) Hampton. Claudia was a former paralegal for Stites & Harbison Law Firm in Louisville, Kentucky, loved to sew and do needle point and was an awesome cook. Survivors include a son, Christopher Hope of Scottsburg, Indiana; a daughter, Barbara Hope Shannon of Denver, Colorado; two sisters, Lora Hampton of Scottsburg, Indiana and Zelma Ward of Louisville, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Beth Hope, Brian Smith and Christopher Hope and one great grandchild, James Dylan Hope. In addition to her parents, Claudia was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Hampton Bane, Virginia Hampton Taylor and Geraldine Hampton and two brothers, Troy and Alan Hampton. Cremation services were entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Interment will be at a later date in Scottsburg Cemetery. Online condolences:www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
