Clyde Thomas "Tom" Cox, Jr., 79, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on April 4, 1944, in Evarts, Kentucky, the son of the late Clyde Thomas Cox Sr. and Vivian (Bailey) Cox. Tom graduated in the class of 1962 from Evarts High School in Harlan County, Kentucky. On July 31,1963 he married the love of his life, Judy Karla (Azure) Cox, who survives. He retired as Senior Pastor of New Song Church in Scottsburg, Indiana where he served as a member of the Apostolic Resource Ministry and traveled to many countries spreading the good word. Tom was also very involved in his local ministry programs being a member of the Scott Area Minister Association and serving as a chaplain at Scott Memorial Hospital. He was a minister to any and all who would listen. Tom knew the true calling of being a fisher of men, his goal in life was to show everyone around him the true beauty of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Vivian Cox; and his brother, Bobby D. Cox. In addition to his wife, Judy, Tom is survived by three daughters, Diana (Kris) Hahn of Scottsburg, Indiana, Janene (Brad) Stotts of Scottsburg, Indiana, and Joanna Crace of Nabb, Indiana; two sons, Michael (Stephanie) Cox of Scottsburg, Indiana and Jon (Melissa) Cox of Georgetown, Indiana; two brothers, Cleston Cox of Orlando, Florida and Charles Cox of Paducah, Kentucky; nineteen grandchildren, Ashley, Michaela, Kristen, Hillary, Nick, Caleb, Stephen, Katie, Megan, Emily, Ellie, Bailey, Samantha, Peyton, Keaton, Braxton, Reese, Jude, and Hunter; and fifteen great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 11:00 am Wednesday at First Christian Church with Pastor Chris Johanningsmeier officiating. Visitation 3:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, July 25, 2023, and after 9:00 am Wednesday at First Christian Church. Interment to follow services at Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Indiana.
