Dakota Ryan Henry, 23, of Lexington, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on May 29, 1998, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the son of Bruce Henry and Yvonne Fleenor. He graduated from high school and attended Scott County District 2. It was there that he participated in the Archery program. One of his most proud accomplishments was winning the State Championship his first year attending in the 6th grade. He worked for his dad at their floor care service since he was fifteen. Dakota was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to go deer, turkey, and mushroom hunting and he loved to fish. He was a true conservationist, and only harvested the big ones. He also loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing cards and shooting pool with his aunts and uncles. He loved old vintage cars and going to car shows with two of his own cars, which he won many trophies for. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Doris and Ruth Henry; grandmother, June Avalos; four uncles, John, Richard, and Robert Henry, and Roy Davidson; and aunt, Vickie Hernandez. Survivors include his parents, Bruce Henry and Yvonne Fleenor both of Lexington, Indiana; sister, Destiny Henry of Lexington, Indiana; two aunts, Jeanette (Earl) Bowman and Rebekah Brosman both of Scottsburg, Indiana; four uncles, Russell (Orleana) Henry of Austin, Indiana, David Henry of Scottsburg, Indiana, Mark Fleenor of Austin, Indiana, and Joe Dowling of Scottsburg, Indiana; and several cousins. Funeral Service: 11:00 am Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Collins Funeral Home with Phil LaMaster officiating. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Tuesday and after 9 am Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Interment will be at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
