Daniel Wayne Rivera, 76, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at his residence. He was born on September 8, 1947 in Oakland, California, to the late Juan De Dios Rivera Casado and Trina Marie Rivera. Daniel served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, then worked as a Diesel Mechanic before working on base. He worked as an Electrical Engineering Tech for China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station for 25 years. Daniel had lots of hobbies like fixing cars, building computers, and bikes. Enjoyed training and walking his dog, Lucky. He loved spending time with grandchildren and called them weekly. Daniel graduated from Cerro Coso Community College in Ridgecrest, California despite having dyslexia and not being diagnosed or treated until attending College. In addition to his parents Daniel is preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Perez. Survivors include two brothers, Robert Casado of Sacramento, California and Michael Casado of Scottsburg, Indiana; two daughters, Nina Rivera of Westminster, California and Angela Kirby of Ridgecrest, California; six grandchildren, Alena, Nyssa, and Jaden Guidangen, Owen, Brennan, and Hannah Kirby. Cremation services have been entrusted to Collins Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 11:00 am at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg Indiana.
