David Scott "Scotty" Matthews, 59, of Crothersville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana. He was born on May 8, 1960 in Seymour, Indiana, the son of the late Wayne B. Matthews, Sr. and Betty Sue (Couch) Matthews. Scotty graduated from Scottsburg High School in the Class of 1979, was a former employee of the Walmart Distribution Center in Seymour, Indiana and the old Bowater Computer Printing Company in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was a member of the old Wayne's Gym in Scottsburg, Indiana, an avid Indiana University fan and weight lifter. Scotty had requested and was able to help others by donating his body to the Indiana Organ Procurement Organization prior to his cremation. In addition to his parents, Scotty was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne B. Matthews, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Gail (Walker) Matthews; two sons, David Wayne Matthews (Jami) of Scottsburg, Indiana and Joshua Stockdale of Seymour, Indiana; two daughters, Suzanna and Katie Matthews both of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister, Debbie Rasche (Virgil) of Oakland City, Indiana and a granddaughter, Liliana Waldon. The family requests donations be given to Collins Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
