David Wayne Wright, 85, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022. He was born on February 1, 1937 in Oquawka, Illinois, the second child of six, of the late Edward Luther Wright and Kathleen Juanita (Jones) Wright. On February 24,1957 he married Shirley Mae (Wilms) Wright and they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversay this year. David was a Chaplain in the healthcare world for many years. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was a handyman throughout his life, enjoyed woodworking crafts, camping, traveling and volunteering at Hampton Oaks Health Campus. His lesser known talent was singing and bird calls. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by three sons, Roger Dale (Nannette) Wright of West Carrollton, Ohio, Randy Joe (Miriam) Wright of Bozeman, Montana, and Loren David (Caroline) Wright of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; one daughter, Dixie Lynn Jones of Scottsburg, Indiana; one granddaughter, Elisa Marie (Curt) Shumaker; three grandsons, Caleb Wayne Wright, Chadwick David Allen (Rio) Jones, and Daniel Jonathan Wright; and two great grandchildren, Parker and Breanne Shumaker. Memorial Service: 3:00 pm Friday, October 28, 2022 at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation: 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Friday, October 28, 2022, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
