Dean Armstrong, 88, of Crothersville, Indiana passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born on August 22, 1935, in Scott County, Indiana, the son of the late Orval and Jelma (Mosley) Armstrong. On June 4, 1960, he married Mamie (Turner) Armstrong, who passed away on November 1, 1996. Then on January 21, 1999, he married Norma (Stark) Armstrong, who passed away on February 24, 2015. He retired from Jackson-Jennings Farm Bureau, in Seymour, Indiana as a tractor mechanic. He was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Crothersville, Indiana. Dean enjoyed tinkering out in his garage after retirement and going to the Sale Barn in Scottsburg, Indiana. He also enjoyed Oliver Tractors, NASCAR, and Indiana Basketball. In addition to his birth parents, Orval and Jelma, and the parents who raised him, Charley and Bea Rider, Dean was preceded in death by his first wife, Mamie; second wife, Norma; and his six siblings, Don Armstrong, Jean Kosnick, Joyce Ashby, Daryl Armstrong, Beth Drake, and Dan Armstrong. Survivors include daughter, Lou Moore (Bert Kendall) of Scottsburg, Indiana; special friend, Allen (Sandy) Stuckwisch of Tampico, Indiana; two, brothers, Dale (Donna) Armstrong and Dave Armstrong; five grandchildren, Scott (Steph) Moore, Justin (Lisa) Moore, Chris (Jacki) Moore, Laina (Ben) Vaughn, and Kyle (Christy) Moore; twelve great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. Funeral Service 6:00 pm Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor Randy King officiating. Visitation 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm Tuesday prior to services.
