Deanna "Debug" Slack, 54 of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on May 6, 1969, in Scottsburg, Indiana, to Gene Carey and the late Carolyn J. (Colbert) Carey. She attended Northside Christian Church in New Albany, Indiana. Deanna enjoyed traveling and loved her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother Carolyn J. (Colbert) Carey. Deanna is survived by her son, Joseph Scott (Samantha) Slack of Scottsburg, Indiana; her daughter, Sara Louise (Jacob Nowlin) Slack of Scottsburg, Indiana; father, Gene Carey and bonus mom Carolyn Hearne Stout of Deputy, Indiana; companion, Donald Herald of Crothersville, Indiana; brother, James (Emma) Carey of Scottsburg, Indiana; sister, Rhonda Carey of Scottsburg, Indiana; and her six grandchildren Jazlynn Young, Aiyana Young, Makayla Nowlin, Leilani Slack, Kallen Nowlin, and Lennox Slack. Visitation will be held at Collins Funeral Home on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Private graveside will be held at Cravens Cemetery in Vienna, Indiana at a later time.
