Deborah Kay Hall Hougland, 61, of Underwood, Indiana, went home to be with Jesus on April 3, 2021. She was born on March 16, 1960 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the daughter of Alton Hall and Shirley (Clem) Hall. She was a graduate of Henryville High School Class of 1978. Deb recently retired from Lexington Elementary School in Lexington, Indiana, and spent many years as a teachers assistant in both Scott Districts 1 & 2. She was a member of Vienna Baptist Church, an avid scrapbooker and a fan of IU basketball. She was "Auntea" to her nieces who were her biggest fans. Survivors include her parents, Alton and Shirley Hall of Underwood, Indiana; sister, Rhonda (Ron) Snedden of Scottsburg, Indiana; niece, Brittney (Scott) Farner of New Albany, Indiana, three great-nieces, Mia, Lila Polley, and Clara Farner. Preceding her in death were her grandparents John and Delphia Clem and Mildred and Herman Hall; husband of 20 years Mike Hougland; her loving companion, Sean Coley and her beloved hound dog Pearl.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am onThursday, April 8, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home with Pastor David Carroll officiating. Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday and after 10 am on y few Thursday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Cremation is requested following her her services with burial at a later date at Scottsburg Cemetery. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's and Indiana State recommendations and guidelines while attending the services. Memorial Contributions may be given to either the Scott County Humane Society or CASA of Scott County
