Dennis Eugene East

Dennis Eugene East, 55, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born in the Naval Hospital on Camp Lijeune, North Carolina on May 19, 1971, the son of David and Martha (Newton) East. He worked at several jobs over the years. He started working at a service station at the age of 14. His most recent job was with E&B Paving as a roller operator. He always said his toys got bigger as he got older. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Cecil and Ruth Newton and Marvell and Catherine East; and his great grandmother Gladys Belcher. He is survived by his parents, David and Martha East; sister, Monica East; a niece Sophia Bruner who he lovded with all his heart; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. He was loved by all.
There willl be a graveside service at East Cemetery in Fredonia, Indiana on Saturday, September 27, 2026 following a service at the Plesant Ridge Bapitst Church next to the cemetery. There was a celebration of life at the Scottsburg American Legion on Friday, September 26, 2026 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana was entrusted with the cremation.
