Obituary

Dennis K. Sampson, 63, of Austin, Indiana, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on March 5, 1957 in Clarksville, Indiana, the son of the late Floyd Sampson and Joyce (Cook) Sampson. Dennis was a former employee of Morgan Foods in Austin, Indiana and also had worked at the old Kocolene Gas Station in Scottsburg, Indiana. He enjoyed fishing, watching TV and playing with his dogs. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by three sisters, Angie Hughes, Lisa Meeks and Denise Torstick; a brother, Jeffrey "Jippy" Sampson and a granddaughter, Kassidy Michele King. Survivors include a daughter, Amy King of Austin, Indiana; a brother, Nicholas "Nickey" Sampson of New Albany, Indiana and several grandchildren. Funeral Service: 12:00 noon on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home with private burial in Bethel Cemetery in Blocher, Indiana. Visitation: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive mandate.
