Denver Kenneth Bowling

Denver Kenneth Bowling was born September 5, 1943, in Perry County, Kentucky, to the late James and Maggie (Napier) Bowling. He graduated from Scottsburg Senior High School in 1962.

He joined the U.S. Army on May 5, 1965, and completed basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and AIT at Fort Sill, Oklahoma for missile training. He was stationed in Neckarsulm, Germany. He was honorably discharged on May 4, 1971 as a Specialist E4.

He then returned to the American Can Company in Austin, Indiana, retiring after 30 years when the plant shut down. He married Thelma on October 25, 1973 and they had one daughter, Yolande (Mitch); one son, Robert David (Amanda); four grandchildren, Natasha (Dustin), Tyler, Sophia, and Rylan; two great grandchildren, Remington and Bryer. In addition to his parents Denver was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma; and nine sibblings.

There will be a memorial service on Friday, July10, 2026 at 12:00pm at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the funeral home. Cremation was entrusted to Collins Funeral Home. Online condolences:www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
