Obituary

Dillard Whittymore, 80, of Lexington, Indiana, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020 at his residence. He was born in London, Kentucky, the son of the late Dillard Whittymore and Polly (Pennington) Whittymore. Dillard graduated from Scottsburg High School, Class of 1958. He was a retired businessman, the Charter President of the Sertoma Club of Jackson County, and a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Madison, IN. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jalynn (Schlehuser) Whittymore; three sons, Dill (Deanna) Whittymore of Brownstown, IN, Mark Whittymore and Coby (Randie) Whittymore, all of Scottsburg, IN; a daughter, Deborah Jean (Gary) Hunnicutt of Jeffersonville, IN; a brother, William (Reva) Whittymore of Palm City, FL; two sisters, Marie Oberlies of Sarasota FL and Rhoda (Richard) Johnson of Greenwood, IN; ten grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Vaughn Lee, and brothers, Harold Vaughn and Levi Whittymore. Private graveside services were held on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Bunker Hill Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Pflug officiating.
