Donald W. Stump, 74, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on November 1, 1947, in Hammond, Indiana, son of the late Donald E. Stump and Yvona J (Michaels) Stump. Don graduated from Hammond High School in 1966 and went on to receive a bachelor's degree from Purdue in Science of Forestry. On June 12, 1970, he married Susan (Sinclair) Stump, who survives him. He retired from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources as District Forester for multiple surrounding counties. He was a member of the First Christian Church and belonged to the Indiana State Tree Farm Association. Don was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the Scottsburg American Legion Post #234. He had a passion for youth sports, always supported and contributed to the Scottsburg Little League. Don coached for the Scottsburg Building and Loan little league team for many years. He was preceded in death by his sister Deanna Stump, father Don, and most recently his mother Yvona. In addition to his wife, Susan, Don is survived by three sons, Michael (Jennifer) Stump of Anderson, Indiana, Steven (Erin) Stump of Wadesville, Indiana, and Eric (Katie) Stump of Scottsburg Indiana. Also, eleven grandchildren, Jerome, Connor, Arwen, Elora, Alexandra, Nicholas, Matthew, Lauren, Dale, Ashton, and Emily. A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Scottsburg American Legion Post #234.
