Donald Lee "Don" West, 85, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on February 12, 2026, in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on July 7, 1940, in Scottsburg, Indiana, to the late Lewis West Sr. and Hattie (McKnight) West. Don married the love of his life, Rose Marie Alcorne, on January 16, 1960. Don dedicated over 27 years of his life to his career as a machinist at ICI, demonstrating a strong work ethic and unwavering commitment. He also committed many years to Floyd Memorial and Scott Memorial hospitals, where he made lasting contributions to his community. A man of many passions, Donald shared a love for adventure with his wife, Rose. Together, they enjoyed riding motorcycles, participating in charitable rides that included a notable tribute for the Vietnam War Memorial Wall. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and being a cub scout leader. Don is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Lewis E. West, Jr., Mildred Jean Helm, Norma Palmer, and Helene Joyce Vaughn; daughter, Dianna Joyce Sipe; and grandson, Mark Fuson. He is survived by his devoted wife, Rose; three daughters, Donna (Mark) Powel, Deloris (Ronald) Tackett, and Debra West; two sons Harley Fuson Jr. and Dustin Fuson; six grandchildren, Amanda (Claude) Marlin, David Owens, Dusty Powel, Harley Fuson, Timothy Fuson Sr., and Sarah Akers; eleven great grandchildren, Jarren, Lilly, Larrisa, Zeth, Lillyanna, Zieak, Morgan, Madi, Kia, Harley, Dustin, and Cash. Funeral service for Don will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 2:00pm at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be prior to the service on Wednesday from 11:00am to 2:00pm also at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana. Memorial donations can be made in Don's name to The Ride for The Cure in c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
